About Danilift

Danilift's Story

The story of Danilift began about 30 years ago when Søren Olesen and Knud Erik Markussen both worked as electro-mechanics for the same company in Northern Jutland, Denmark.

In 1988, they took over the electro-department from their former employer and started running an electro-mechanical workshop with four employees, servicing electric motors, starting motors, generators and electrical control systems for the local companies.

As time went on, the electro-company came to hold a strong position in the field of control system production for the machinery industry, and they started to develop special-purpose machines for the woodworking industry as well as the platform industry.

At the beginning of 1991, one of the company's most important clients went out of business. A new company arose from the ashes of the previous one, and when the two colleagues were offered to take over this exact company in 1991, they accepted. This became the start of Danilift A/S.

The company they took over dealt in machines such as large crushing machines, presses for the woodworking and furniture industries and finally: access platforms. Throughout the early 1990s, Danilift A/S worked determinedly toward doing only what they did best. This meant that the crushing machines and presses went out of production and the sole focus of the company became access platforms.

Today the company maintains its core in producing, servicing, and selling platforms. Specifically platforms mounted on vans and chassis.

In the fall of 2003, Danilift A/S moved into new production facilities in Farsø in Northern Jutland.

The typical clients of Danilift A/S are electric power plants in Denmark and abroad as well as rental services, manufacturing companies, service businesses etc., which are in need of lifting equipment.

The development in the industry is very fast-paced, not least at Danilift A/S. This can be said for the production of new platform types as well as the distribution of Palfinger Platforms in Scandinavia.

Over the years, Danilift A/S has undergone some administrative changes as well. Today Knud Erik Markussen holds the exclusive ownership of Danilift A/S. He continues to strive for Danilift A/S to be one of the leading producers, sellers and servicers of platforms mounted on vans and chassis.
